Zaporavo : Having A Closer Look (... And A Little Insight Into His WIP)

Zaporavo for Conan (Monolith/Bombyx)
Hi Everyone !

I'm very happy with the reactions about Zaporavo, the first model I sculpted for Conan !
Here, on Facebook or on Forums, you let me know that you really liked him !

I'm glad because he is not the type of sculpture I'm usually commissionned for, and yet, it seems that I succeed in my approach and result.
Can't wait to see the final product in plastic !

So, in order to continue to show you some interesting pictures of Zaporavo, here are coming 2 sets of shots : Close-Ups and a small Step By Step focused on his right arm.

But let's start with some close-ups from a low angle...
:)

Hello Tout Le Monde !

So, now lot of close-up shots, focusing on details such as Zaporavo's face, his armor chest, his weapons, boots or his helmet...

Now, I will show you few WIP shots of Zaporavo !
Actually, on the French forum Minicréateurs, someone asked me about the armature (framework), specially his right arm...
So, I did post pics and explained how I managed it.
Here is what was published.
I hope that will be interesting enough...
:)

:)

"About the armature of Zaporavo's right arm...
The basic trick was to not consider the whole hand while making my armature.
The other trick was to use a very soft and thin wire to be able to easily move the armature to adapt or cut it if necessary.

On this first pic (naked armature), arms are not folded yet."

"On this second picture, I have already folded the arms to get to the "right" position, but I keep the possibility to move the whole thing slightly, specially the left arm, since at this moment, I did not have sculpted the saber yet and I knew I would have to adjust the position of his arm.
Actually, at the end, I'm going to slightly cut the top of the armature of the right arm, and I'll use Duro to "continue" it and build the hand on it".

"And finally, on these 2 last pics, we can see I got wrong in the measurements of the armature, cause I had to change the whole sculpture which was far too large in the first place.
I had too much anticipated the plastic production constraints.
I then baked Zaporavo with the armature going out from his arm, armature I did cut after the baking, and I re-sculpted the volumes, getting the finished model".

So ?
Interesting ?

Oh ! ... and as a nice end for this article, here a picture of a project I'm working on... ;)

Bye !
M.

Bye !

M.
