Old(s) & New(s) Part 2 : The More, The Better !

Hello Everyone !

It’s a pleasure to share again pictures of my work before, I hope, exciting news in the future... :)

First, I have to answer questions that have been asked several times :

YES, I am back at sculpting full time.

YES, I am taking commissions from now on, private ones (collectors) as for companies with casting and production plans.

You'll find old and more recent – finished or in progress – works, some were never produced or shared, some seemed to have stayed anonymous though being casted and released...

Finally, some versions of these pictures were modified with Instagram filters that I am starting to like playing with. ;)

C'est un plaisir de partager à nouveau des images de mon travail avant, je l'espère, des nouvelles excitantes dans le futur... :)

D'abord, je dois répondre aux questions qui m'ont été posées plusieurs fois :

OUI, je reviens à la sculpture à temps plein.

OUI, je reprends des commandes à partir de maintenant, privées (collectionneurs) ainsi que pour des compagnies planifiant moulage et production.

Et finalement, des versions de certaines de ces images ayant été modifiées avec des filtres Instagram avec lesquels je commence à aimer jouer. ;)

Jakob, The Apprentice Sorcerer!

Jakob!

Hello Dear Reader,

... And now... Jakob's turn!

Jakob is the male member of the Trio Of Mage Students for Soda Pop Miniatures' Relic Knights range.
Not easy to be the only one, right?! :)

He is a talented apprentice, rightful and serious enough but driven by the will of glory for his family name, seeking for a great power...
I tried from the nice concept art provided by Soda Pop to amplify that description.

I wanted then to give the feeling of an active power surrounding him from the ground, creating a kind of a non-gravity zone around him fed by his magical abilities.

The Magical Effects are made in Magic Sculp, and with a totally different shape and design than Valeria's ones. More aggressive because he is not manipulative, he is efficient and getting right to the point. Higher because in a way more powerful, at least focused on his goal.

I, myself, focused on his anatomy too: keeping the Manga style in mind, very slenderish...

The tricky part was about the metal production constraints...
I decided from the beginning to have the Bag and the Body in only one part. It wasn't easy to sculpt the model this way, but I managed it!
So, the only part-side — apart for the Magical Effects of course — is his right arm attached to the Wand! Pretty cool I hope for those who will have to built this little guy!

The Wand is a copy (rather than a proper casting) in Magic Sculp of the original one sculpted for Valeria. I did not have access at this moment to material to get resin castings, so I did a kind of mould and used it with MS, but had to work a lot on the result to get the right Wand...

Sexy, Manipulative, Witch... Valeria!

Trio Of Mage Students—Valeria!

Hi Everyone,

first, I want to thank all people who like the models I have ever sculpted, and even more the ones who helped and supported me since I have started to sculpt.

So, now, it's all about a tiny and sexy girl who is ambitious and manipulative, but more important, who is studying Magic!

Now, it's all about Valeria!

She is the first member of the Trio Of Mage Students I have sculpted for Soda Pop Miniatures for the range of the Relic Knights, such as One Shot, and other characters.

As said in the previous article I wrote about this trio, I instantly loved the designs provided by John from Soda Pop.

It's not really my natural style, and it was a kind of (another) challenge for me!

(I did sculpt One Shot, but then, her design wasn't so much close of Manga.)

And the other challenge was that I had to sculpt and then properly design the models for a 30mm range and metal production! And of course, with not as much parts as for One Shot Mecha! :)

After several chats with John, we agreed I could take some liberties from the illustration for production purposes but only to re-enforce the description of her personality that John gave me in the first place.

A girl who likes to manipulate, using all her seduction assets to get to her goal.

... Ever watched Gossip Girl? :)

And I managed to do that to have her monobloc!

We agreed from the beginning that she could not have her wand on her, it should be provided with the model though.

The most funny part was about the hair I think...

I did try something graphical, inspired by some Manga designs, but also adapted to each of the 3 characters of the Trio.

For her, it's a bit aggressive, sharped curves that follow the anatomy and try to get in any free space available... Like herself!

The last part is of course the Magical Wave, symbolizing her power...

It was the first I sculpted and then designed, though I already had in mind the style I would create for the two other members of the Trio.

I wanted a kind of open circle, with several sharp areas on the ground and the more the wave would grow, the more it would soften...

I actually did work a bit again on it when sculpting the two others to finally get this result.

I do hope you will like it!
