It's Day 04 !
It has been a very busy day ! :)

Let's start with good news !
While I'm writing these lines, Gob'Croft has been unlocked, and Gob'Nan is closed to be reached !

Voici le Jour 04 !
Ça a été un jour très chargé ! :)

Commençons par une bonne nouvelle !
Alors que j'écris ces lignes, Gob'Croft a été débloquée, et Gob'Nan est prêt à être atteint !

So, this morning, after a night for the Fimo to stabilize, I could add a bit of volumes on the body : the base of his Belt, volume I will use to fill up the gap between the handle of the Sword and the Body, and I shaped the left boot...

Donc, ce matin, après une nuit pendant laquelle le fimo a pu se stabiliser, j'ai pu ajouter quelques volumes au Corps : la base de sa Ceinture, un volume que j'utiliserai pour boucher le creux entre le manche de son Épée et du Corps, et j'ai construit sa botte gauche...

After that, I let the Body of Gob'Nan on the side to concentrate on his Sword.
After drawing the shape, I cut it, carved it to get its sharpness, used a metal wire that I flattened in its center and pierced to get the base of the blade, glued them and finally, after "damaging" the blade,
glued a brass tube to create the base of the handle...

Après ça, j'ai laissé le Corps de Gob'Nan de côté pour me concentrer sur son Épée.
Après avoir dessiné sa forme, je l'ai coupée, taillée pour obtenir son tranchant, pris un fil de fer que j'ai aplati en son centre puis percé pour créer sa garde, collé le tout et finalement, après avoir "abîmé" la lame, collé un tube de laiton pour créer la base du manche...

Then, it was time to put the Sword on the Body !
I used Duro in the base and behind the handle to fix it.
There are lot of gaps, and I will obviously need to fill them with volumes such as draperies or small bags...
It's also for this reason that I decided to have the sword in the center and not coming from the left, like the art could let think (it is really a matter of interpretation in my opinion).
I'll explain later why some choices are made because of the casting process...

Il était alors temps de placer l'Épée sur le Corps !
J'ai utilisé du Duro dans le socle et derrière le manche pour la fixer.
Il y a beaucoup de creux, et je vais clairement devoir les boucher avec différents volumes tels que des drapés ou de petits sacs...
C'est aussi pour cette raison que j'ai décidé d'avoir l'Épée au centre et non pas venant de la gauche, comme l'illustration pourrait le laisser penser (c'est en fait une question d'interprétation du dessin pour moi).
J'expliquerai plus tard pourquoi ceetains choix sont faits en fonction du procédé de moulage...

It allowed me to play around too, modifying slightly shapes (such as the legs) or getting further into details such as the face or the rocks and the start of a skull...

Cela m'a aussi permis de m'amuser, modifiant légèrement certaines formes (comme les jambes) ou d'aller plus loin dans des détails comme le visage ou les cailloux et le début d'un crâne...

It was time to create the shape of the hands on the Sword !
Just basic volumes really...

Il était temps de créer les mains sur l'Épée !
En réalité, simplement les volumes très basiques...

Then, I took the base of the Shealth I left yesterday and took the time to find the right place.
It has to create a nice result all together with the rest of the volumes and as much important as this is, it also needs to be at the right place for the casting process.
Yeap, that is actually the most tricky part in this business : not only the quality of the sculpture is important, but the technics of casting have to be included in the process of sculpting.
Specially when the model needs to be monobloc !

J'ai alors pris la base du Fourreau laissé hier et pris le temps de lui trouver la bonne place.
L'ensemble, avec le reste des volumes, doit créer un résultat harmonieux et, et c'est aussi important, doit être bien placé pour faciliter le moulage et la reproduction.
Et oui, c'est en fait la partie la plus délicate de ce travail : non seulement la qualité de sculpture est importante, mais les techniques de moulage et ses "restrictions" doivent être intégrées dans la réalisation d'une sculpture.
Spécialement quand le modèle doit être monobloc !
