For who is familiar with my work, what follows won't be a surprise.
For the others, let's be clear : I LOVE sculpting details, textures, specially at pretty small scales !
You may have understood this from the previous Part of This Tale, the Clown Face being about 5 mm tall. ;)
The details are very important in the way I see my work :
They are the ultimate goal that gives purpose to the whole sculpture, from the choice of the subject to the entire shape of the final sculpture.
The quality of the details is what "finishes" a sculpture.
Without quality in the details and textures, the sculpture is unfinished or only just bad.
You may have understood this from the previous Part of This Tale, the Clown Face being about 5 mm tall. ;)
The details are very important in the way I see my work :

Les détails sont très importants dans la façon dont je perçois mon travail :
Ils sont le but ultime qui donne de l'intérêt à la sculpture dans son ensemble, depuis le choix du sujet à la silhouette entière de la sculpture finale.
La qualité des détails est ce qui "finit" une sculpture.
Sans qualité dans les détails et les textures, la sculpture n'est pas finie ou est simplement mauvaise.

Beware Dear Reader !
I do not mean necessarily "clean details" !
I mean right scale for the details, I mean right texture to identify and highlight the volumes, I mean balance between all the details and the same finishing in the style, and the most important, I mean details at the service of the sculpture like salt and pepper will value the taste of the meal.
Not enough and this will be tasteless... Too much, it will be indigestible !

Je ne dis pas nécessairement "détails très propres (ou lisses)" !
Je parle de détails à la bonne échelle, je parle de la bonne texture qui identifie et met en valeur les volumes, je parle d'équilibre entre tous les détails ainsi que la même finition dans le style, et le plus important, je parle de détails au service de la sculpture comme peuvent l'être le sel et le poivre pour un plat cuisiné.
Pas assez et ça n'aura pas de goût... Trop, ce sera indigeste !

This Tale of The Journey Through The Creation Of A Rotten Clown started as a simple idea of a simple miniature (you may read again Part 1 to remember).
Details as "elements" were not to be much present since I wanted the audience to focus on the Face.
Just few things such as 2 different detailed shoes (the idea came long after the original description – read Part 1 –), few scars, a simple weapon... And a very twisted mutagenic left arm !
But then, shapes of those details, their volumes (the pants !) and, most important, textures had to be created with lot of care and balance to add lot of interest to the sculpture !
So much fun to do this !
Details as "elements" were not to be much present since I wanted the audience to focus on the Face.

... And remember : this sculpture is 32mm at the eye level in its actual position. ;)

Ce Conte du Périple À Travers La Création D'un Rotten Clown a commencé en tant que simple idée d'une simple figurine (vous pouvez lire à nouveau la Partie 1 pour vous remémorer).
Les détails en tant qu'"éléments" ne se devaient pas d'être trop présents puisque je voulais que l'audience se focalise sur le Visage.
Simplement quelques petites choses telles que 2 différentes chaussures (l'idée m'est venue après la description d'origine – relisez la Partie 1 –), quelques cicatrices, une arme simple... Et un bras gauche mutagène très bizarre !
Mais, alors, la silhouette de ces détails, leurs volumes (le pantalon court !) et, le plus important, les textures se devaient d'être créés avec beaucoup d'attention et d'équilibre pour ajouter de l'intérêt à la sculpture !
Tellement de plaisir à les faire !
... Et souvenez-vous : cette sculpture fait 32mm au niveau des yeux dans sa position. ;)
